First let's talk about the cutest little shop ever....never mind everything being right at $9.00 and under!

There's skirts and dresses, blouses and sweaters (this past Saturday was the winter blowout $2.00 sweater sale--proud to say I supported the cause with four new sweaters for myself.) All proceeds going to charity, so super guilt free shopping!

Check out the cute stuff on the racks, and yes ladies, it changes weekly due to the high number of donations coming in daily--blazers, suits, jewelry, you name it. Get a receipt for any of your items donated, and BOOM--good Karma+a tax break=um, you're Awesome!

If you're like me, you're not made out of money--looking stellar on a budget is art form, believe me....and adversity seems to have made me the Master (apparently, in addition to character, adversity breeds style....and speaking of style...)...
One of the classiest ladies I've ever met is Miss Latanya Johnson, Executive Director of Working Women International, and the driving force behind the powerhouse of positivity that is 925 Boutique.

As a stylist, I offered my services for free to any of the ladies that were guests that day. One of the best parts of being a stylist is hearing everyone's stories--Latanya's story, like many of the women she works so hard to help, is tough to hear. Stories of walking in the rain to job interviews with one's shoes falling apart, or with holes in the soles large enough the summer pavement burns the feet are just some of the anecdotes that made me realize so clearly how dignity and grace are determined by how well you react and how much you can take with your head held high--the definition of class.

And yet--these women have the most beautiful smiles I've ever seen. Through the darkest of times and in the lowest of points, these women were and are still beautiful, and it is their struggle that makes that shine.

The organization runs through assistance via the local Soroptomists' International of South Placer and other businesses and charities. Ladies referred to the boutique via local organizations get set up with the career wear they need to snag that job. (Working Women International also helps with referrals to locations where you can get a hot meal, help with career services, and much more.)

Alright StyleWise Guys and Fellow Fashionistas--that's all for now, but that's not the last Live In-Store style event either! Come on in one Saturday and get a free consult--you never know, you might snag a designer bag, plus end up in your very own Style Spotlight!

And if you want to meet Latanya, pop into to the Soroptomists' 4th Annual Women's Opportunity Award Luncheon: "Reclaiming the Dream", Saturday March 8th, 11am-1pm at the City of Rocklin Parks & Recreation Office Parkview Activity Room: 5460 5th Street Rocklin CA 95765.
You can chat with Latanya when she's not busy being the Hostess with Mostest, Yours Truly (...'cause what's a party without moi?...), and hear Guest & Keynote Speaker, Assemblywoman Beth Gaines!
($20.00 at the door, lunch included of course...) For more info, call 916-415-8649.

Goodnight Gang--and good dress!
